json_encode error in MODX log

Same with us.

With TinyMCE installed results in the error messages. After deinstalling TinyMCE no more error messages ...

I am on Revo 2.0.7 pl
and issue is still here. not sure how to log it in bugtracker if not logged already.

I can reproduce in the same way. Getting different error messages though. (PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 130023422 bytes) in /var/www/user1/data/www/domain.com/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php on line 1884, referer: http://domain.com/manager/index.php?a=13&id=7)

Workaround 1 (still have TinyMCE):

use right click on the Chunk > Quick Update Chunk (works perfectly fine)

Workaround 2 (loose TinyMCE):

uninstall TinyMCE
OR
set "Editor to use" ("which editor") to None

someone can log a bug....

i have a HUUUUUUGE error.log file..
i never checked this cause i didn’t have any problems (so why check logs if everything is running fine?)

anyway, my log is around 130MB (!!!), mostly full with logs of this issue (i get a bunch of issues with generating thumbnails for images in the gallery extra, as well, but this not as many)

i only figured this out cause the site ran out of space (i had warned the owner but he failed to buy more space and auto-backup + a growing error.log filled it all up)

i can’t access modx right now (waiting for them to reactivate the site) so i figured i’d go searching for stuff to delete throught ftp (images etc) and since i found the cache folder i thought i’d check it out.... and there it was!

shouldn’t there be a big warning on the backend when the error.log grows too big? it’s obiviously a sign something’s going wrong

It seems like the json-errors disappeared completely in Revo 2.0.8.

Sorry I was wrong. The errors still appear...

My website also suffers from the same issue, has for a while but never bothered it.


If any of the core team would love to access it to see if they can discover a solution for this harmless, yet highly annoying error, just let me know and I’ll get you guys access to the FTP and Manager (currently on 2.0.8).

The problem is in the TinyMCE extra AFAIK. if someone wants to debug it and submit a patch to that Extra project, that would be awesome.
