I discovered that when I installed the activedirectory authentication component and didn’t configure it properly it plainly killed my manager screen and presented me with the White screen of death once I logged in
From apache error log:

Once I renamed the component’s folder to something else I was able to resume work in the manager systems.
Just thought I’d float this up in case anyone wasn’t making progress with their Wsod problem.
Always have a look see in the /var/logs/apache2/ error.log file to trace back any issues you may be having if you’re not able to see the manager logs etc.
