Followed your tip, I use Trillian... I tried again just now, doesn’t work.

Here are the settings :

#modx via IRC
irc.freenode.net::6667

I’ve also tried with ChatZilla, not luck...
I’ll check my router settings, might be that my 6667 port is closed or something...

Do you need a screencap of my Trillian settings?

I am puzzled here it’s not the first time I use IRC... the thing is, it works neither with ChatZilla nor with Trillian...

I have edited my NAT rules to open the 6667 port, but nothing changed it was not the firewall apparently...

Found one other great MOD. Allows you to easily create new bbcode tags (like say for links to the bugtracker using FS#123 style links!)

David, I imagine the problem is the server name. When I created the connection, I clicked the ... box next to the server name attribute. This brings up a list of IRC servers, and if you scroll down and open the FreeNode folder, you’ll see the entry that says FreeNode: random server. Choose this and I’ll bet you have more luck.

Nah, it’s solved, thanks to Zi : it was a nick conflict or something. I had the random server configured also...

And I have dropped by IRC quite often... just not last week, pretty busy with 2 MODx websites going online soon, a 3rd in the making and a 4th that might just pop, if I make my case correctly against my competitor that made a proposal based on Joomla

Whats the status of installing any of the 3 mods mentioned in this thread?

Considering the massive amount of non-english posts we’ve been getting recently (Thanks David ) I think we really need to install IgnoreBoards --- so that users can hide language subforums that they can’t read. It is becoming nearly impossible to keep up with the forums when I have to skip entire pages of Unread Topics because I can’t read them (and occasionally an important thread slips through).

Ryan, can we PLEASE install this?

I’ve got to install and test it first on a non-critical test location, then I’ve got to test it, then I can repeat the process here. It’s not automated due to our custom theme, and SMFs inability to have it’s package manager function on our server (permissions).
