0.9.5 Default Content Changes

  I agree with having options to install the default content for a specific language, but I do not think the "no sample content" option should include anything beyond the single page it includes, especially now that you can have your site_start and error_page set the same page, yet get different responses as appropriate (i.e. 200 vs. 404).

  I had noticed something a while ago but forgot to mention it : the BottomButtonBar plugin is not configured properly.
  
  Only OnChunkFormRender is checked.
  
  It should be checked also for :
  * OnDocFormRender
  * OnModFormRender
  * OnPluginFormRender
  * OnSnipFormRender
  * OnTVFormRender
  * OnTempFormRender
  * OnUserFormRender
  * OnWUsrFormRender
  
  While I am here, I have been thinking the HideEditor plugin should be bundled with MODx. If a given document is associated with a template which does not include the [*content*] tag, but only template variables, it’s more logical not to display the content field upon editing. The only thing is, this plugin is not working with 0.9.5 anymore, I tried it but the rewriting must have changed something, since the little hack to mutate_content.dynamic.action.php (should I say now mutate_content.dynamic.php) is not working anymore (Timon, do you have an update ?).

  I’d like to have a preliminary run at getting this site into the installer.
  Banzai, can you dump the whole db to SQL and post it as an attachment here? I can then tidy it up.

  As we’re also using this thread to discuss the installer itself, I have a suggestion.
  
  There isn’t a huge amount of help in the installer - it doesn’t even really say how to make various directories writable.
  I know there’s http://modxcms.com/installation-and-configuration.html but that’s not particularly helpful.
  
  And as we all know, finding answers in the forum is not straightforward.
  
  I believe each release should have an installation FAQ, and there should be a link to that on every page of the installer (possibly, this could go in the space where What’s New goes now).
  
  This FAQ should be a MODx page, something like:
  http://modxcms.com/0.9.5-installation-faq.html
  
  That would allow us to update as required. Even, in due course, stating "0.9.5 has been superceded by 0.9.x. We recommend you download and install 0.9.x instead." at the top (but still giving help for those who need to install 0.9.5 for whatever reason).
  
  I am offering to help compile such a document, although I would intend to direct users to other server/MySQL resources for a number of the answers.

  Also: Have updated UltimateParent snippet in .it to 1.2.
  
  I note that the comments give the example usage as:
  // [[GetUltimateParent?id=`45`&top=`6`]]
  
  I suggest that we amend this to reflect the snippet name used.
  
  Secondly, I suggest that instead of prefixing descriptions with "NEW" (which gets old fast), we prefix them with the version number. This is what I do personally, and I think it’s clearer.

  Jason reports that the light template falls apart pretty badly in IE, with mismatched background colors on the icons and a few other things. Anyone want to take a stab at fixing the issues?
  
  Also, where do we stand on the default content update in your branch Paul? As soon as we have that in, I think we’ll be ready for beta 3.
  
  Kyle, did you update the template/style switcher on the www.modx.it (what a cool url btw ) site? When I switch to the MODxCSS template then switch to another Style in Safari, it updates the page. However, as soon as I go to a different page, it reverts back to the MODxHost template.

  Branch not touched; work pressures mean I won’t have chance to sort it out for around 3 hours. I wasn’t expecting Banzai to be so amazingly fast with his Struttura della tabellas.

  I updated it on the site, but I didn’t set it to set a cookie to save the settings. That can be changed in the plugin config if needed.

  Will do this as soon as I’ve sorted my branch out, and put in the new UltimateParent 1.2 (as opposed to the ’old’ UltimateParent 1.2).
