MODx 097 will issue forth a whole new level of flexibility and capabilities when it’s released. With that it’s time we update the site and resources, and focus more on the community that brought us here. Would love some feedback on the logo for now:

So when will MODx become "Tattoo"? Nice logo too!
Funny you should ask sirlancelot, I was thinking of the Tattoo logo and tag line, which I particularly love
This being said, I like the work on the new logo here !
It’s time that we update the website too, we’ve been meaning to get that done for some time and I am glad we’re finally there : you can count on me !

As the noobie in the room, and a coder at that, I’m going to offer up my honest opinion at great peril ;-)
The new logo looks nice. It is crisp, clean, works all of the points that you want to convey. It looks very business and enterprise-oriented. I know from reading a few things here and there that the platform is moving in an enterprise-y direction. I can understand the desire to get there - it is capable and deserving of big business attention.
But for me, a freelancer who interfaces with the corporate world, but is not of that world, edgier, artier stuff gets my attention. I’m not going to joke here - it was something about the look of that logo, with the rounded capital letters that seem to express the word MOD regardless of the fact that the letters spelled it, that made me sit up and take notice the very first time I saw it. It sounds shallow and ridiculous, but if not for the current branding, I just may not have stuck around or paid as much attention to what was going on. (I had a hate-on for CMSs at the time.)
It seems to be a pretty big shift in the brand, not only a new typeface for the logo, but ditching the capitalization of MOD. If the shift is deemed necessary by those present, then I defer of course to the wisdom of those longer associated with the project than I. I can then only recommend planning to stay with it for a long time.
(You can of course change the look and feel of communications without modifying the brand. I worked for two years in the communications department at Sprint Canada and saw them do it all the time. They consistently messed around with design approach, messaging, tone and manner, while the "brand" changed only very subtlety, and never once did the logo and it’s accompanying standards of usage budge a millimeter.)
So I guess my overall point is that I think the new logo - specifically the typeface of "modx" - will be more palatable to the business crowd, and I have to wonder if it’s going to capture the minds and hearts of the "developer on the street".
I offer this opinion in the spirit of honesty because you deserve no less.
Interested to hear more on the topic...
I think the Tattoo logo will be more atuned to what you’re looking for NetProphet
