Good news and bad news...(don’t worry...they’re both related!)
First the good news...a new version of FCKEditor is out!
Bad news...looks like they pulled the plug on the MCPUK file browser! So...we definitely need a replacement! If anything, I’ll see what we can do to just configure the browser that’s already in FCK to work for our use. Only problem though is that we’ll loose image editing capabilities. But if it means having something much more solid for the time being then so be it!

Guess I’ll have to test it and see. At the rate they’re going with it though...we’ll probably just have to take it as it is either way. Suck, I know...but until we get a more viable alternative, we’ll be stuck with it. Right now, the only decent file manager/image editor combo that is still in constant development is the TinyMCE plugins by MoxieCode...but those cost money!
I think what we could do is get the iManager thing from Marco rolling and just concentrate on the essentials...meaning just having the ability to browse and pick files and some basic, basic file management capabilities (add, delete, rename, etc.). Once we test it and debug the crap out of it, we can implement it into MODx. Then we can concentrate on getting the other fun stuff into it such as image editing capabilities and other file management stuff (zip capabilities would be nice!). But just keep in mind that it’ll take a little while to get the iManager in even basic shape.

hmmm, once again. I say outsource this bit about the file manager. Is there any alternatives out there worth looking at?
