Next Major Code overhaul

You are correct. I’m trying to go with a more thorough overhaul. Zi’s will definitely help us tear away from the Etomite coloring. Hopefully when we get this all more CSS oriented, we can have multiple skins for the backend.

have you thought about frontends as well? I think a major factor for setting us apart was if we could package MODx with 8-10 CSS/light graphic schemes right away. The more we offer, the more likely someone would be to do the "Hey, I really see how easy it is to modify this!" dance we want them to do!

The schema in development will be very heavy in Tiger OSx and Windows XP flavoring...I definitely want the backend to carry alot of gravity and really give you the feeling of being in something damn near close to a WinAPI when you are bouncing around in it. When it feels like you can click and drag the page into Outlook, or start an executable in Windows...it will be done

Just to toss 2 cents in here, it’d be way better to have one slammin’ interface as opposed to 10 mediocre ones. The backend is complicated enough and will get moreso, it won’t be as easy a task as skinning it as something like Wordpress. There are many pieces interacting together here. For example, can we eventually skin the FCK image and link browser screens? etc.

I think x meant for the front end. I’ve got three or four basic CSS layouts if you want to dress them up. The templates are fine, just need to play with the CSS. I’m no artist, I tend towards plain colors and one or two simple images as backgrounds here and there.
