Well done, David, first-rate job. I think you have acheived a balance of sobriety and confidance inspiring seriousness as befits the subject, together with a fresh visual appeal that many an etude de notaire would envy.
Come to think of it, given the number of notaires in France, maybe you have discovered a whole new filiere for talented web developers like yourself!
Just one little observation: being a little short-sighted (perhaps like many of the maitre’s clients), I have set my browser’s minimal font size a bit larger (13) than the default. With many sites this will break the layout; here it’s the address which overflows to the right of the header. A simple fix might be to replace

left: 540px;

with

right: 15px;

in

#contact

Similarly, in

#topmenu

, the links start a new line when font sizes are increased, only to be hidden by the header. Again, quite trivial to fix.

Yeah I like them sober, so I kind of influence my clients to go down that road... I am a big fan of Steve Krug’s "Don’t make me think"

Might be so, especially considering the competition... I have done a comparative analysis of 50 notaires’ websites, and few are any good
