Serious Firefox Speed-up

Thanks for the update. I just ventured into the Mac world. I’ve got to send it in (it shuts down 15 min. after I run it on battery). But once it gets fixed, Ill have to try out Parallels. Thanks for the Parallel’s thumbs-up.

all FF extensions do is load it up with excess weight, its human nature to want to load up on the goodies even if they don’t need them, pound for pound Safari blows FF out of the water and there’s also Webkit nighly build which can do more than the standard Safari, the extensions are not worth much to me speed and performance are. FF is ok as an alternative to IE I’ll give it that

FF and it’s web developer extensions are totally untouchable in Safari currently.

The three extensions I find invaluable are:

1. Web Developer
2. MeasureIt (http://www.kevinfreitas.net/extensions/measureit/)
3. Colorzilla (http://www.kevinfreitas.net/extensions/measureit/)

These make browsing the web just wonderful.

Also Greasemonkey and the hide Myspace script (this removes all personalized styling on Myspace- which most personalized styling really really really sucks).

Oh yeah, three more
4. SessionSaver
5. Tab Mix Plus
6. All-in-One Sidebar (Side-bar resembles Opera - very nice)

These six extensions make my work and browsing life much more simple. But we can agree to disagree. =)

ColorZilla doesn’t work on FF Mac, though, too bad

Yeah. That really bums me out. I guess thats why I need Parallels....

I find the DigitalColorMeter that comes with OS X to be sufficient for my needs; it lives in my Dock. There are plenty of apps to measure and otherwise deal with screen real estate.

most extentions are play toys, I agree the webdevloper tool is handy, but i can do without it,
Safari webkit has something called web inspector and there is a plugin safari tidy for html/css correction and other cool 3rd party tools that make Safari sizzle, can’t wait to see what will be added to Safari webkit next

I don’t agree with you, FF extensions are really those small things that make your life different, and webdevelopper is an efficiency booster, especially when you work on complex websites...
Then again, everyone is entitled to his opinion
