[Solved]How to Show a "Featured Home" on main page?

strange ... don’t know why it works on my site. maybe i’ll set it up on another site to see if i run into any problems.

K i finally figured it out.. the TV was applied to the template for the actual properties instead of the home page.. so it works fine now! Thanks!

Interesting thread. I am trying to follow this carefully but without seeing the actual site, the templates, TV’s and the working snippet calls its hard to visualize.

Any chance you could post these details? How about the site? I have never seen this snippet used before...

I wanted to display a "Featured Home" on my home page so I wanted to have a dropdown where that could be picked by the user out of all the available properties. the page where it shows all the properties before going into detail about the property is ID 4. After setting Quill up you set up the TV


Template Variable Name: featuredHome
Caption: Which Home to Feature?
Description:
Input Type: DropDown List Menu
Input Options Variable: @EVAL return $modx->runSnippet(’Quill’, array("parent"=>"4")); <-- 4 is the Parent page to the properties.
Template Access: Home (where I want to display the featured home.)


Home Page Template Ditto Call:
[!Ditto? &documents=`[*featuredHome*]` &tpl=`featuredProperty` &noResults=`No Featured Home Selected.` !]

I am in the middle of developing a site for a real estate pro and this function is of great interest to me.

I will download this snippet, try the calls and see how it goes. Quill seems like it has zero documentation or working examples.

Not exactly much help for MODx but no reason why you can’t use other CMS scripts also for specific jobs if you not getting anywhere fast. This one’s for Joomla and I created a site with it no problem. Spent less time with the programming and had more time to make it look pretty
