            I would use Chrome if it supported Roboform. Given Google’s tendency to release things and never fix them (e.g. the Google Calendar wrap bug), I wonder if it ever will.

            It looks like I’m the only person who actually uses IE7 on a regular basis. I use FF3 too, but I hate the FF page search implementation.

              I would try chrome if there was a mac version;
              I would use Safari or Opera if they represented a larger share of the market;
              I would use Camio if it supported FF add-ons (it might do this now but it did not when I tried it out);
              I may very remotely consider IE if there was a mac version (I just hate IE and M$ so much because of their total disregard for the web and standards that I doubt I will ever endorse them for anything, IMO seems like a huge step backwards);

              That only leaves FF. It is not my favorite, but seems to be the most common denominator for mac users. I find it clunky and there is definitely a memory problem someplace if you get too many tabs.

              I want to install Ubuntu (or some other *nix OS) on an old G3 i have stashed, but have not found the time (or the space on my table top). Maybe next year. wink

                Shane, Firefox 3.5 will have better mem management.
                I have Ubuntu running as a VM on Fusion on my MBP.
                I use safari for testing.
                I use opera for downloading off dodgy websites.
                IE8 will be a good browser but it will create no end of issues.
                Camino is silly
                and Chrome is nice but I miss my firefox addons.

                  LOL, minefield... at first I thought you were joking, but after reading dev_cw post, I guess there is such browser...

                  I personally wouldn’t use any software named minefield, sounds very hazardous laugh

                    From what I could tell MineField (it is a bad name, seems like trouble ahead) will be Mozillas mac browser and they will be dropping the Camio project since it seems to be stalled anyway. Camio is silly, but it works better on the mac than FF does.

                    I trust (hope) that FF will get the memory issues worked out eventually.

                      Chrome is the only browser that could take over from Opera as my day-to-day browser. Been using it happily for months now, more happily since the plugin issues were dealt with. It’s a pity that they don’t roll out these fixes to the majority though.

                      I still use FF for dev work, mainly because of Firebug, but its memory issues mean I can’t keep it running 24/7. I don’t miss the plethora of add-ons others seem to. A lot of them seem better implemented outside the browser anyway. One example is AdBlock. Not necessary since I’ve used (proxy-based) AdMuncher for years, which also covers my email client etc. Another overrated ’must have’ usually built into the browser is password management, which doesn’t seem to work so well. BobRay: RoboForm looks OK but a bit expensive and not as flexible as KeePass which can also do ’auto type’.

                      I’m looking forward to Opera 10 with its promised support for web fonts but it seems a long way off.
