I am currently using Firefox...which for me is still the best. i don’t know if Chrome could overtake or even just halved the success of Firefox. wink

Chrome isn’t fully baked yet. It also doesn’t have plugins (yet) so it won’t aid most front end devs in work.

I’ve added Google Chrome in the list tongue ...

As Jay said, its not totally basked yet and missing plugin functionality. But what I read in the Chrome book gives me an idea about how powerful and efficient it is going to be. I love the idea of having tabs as processes, so 1 tab goes down all others are still alive.

Chrome will be excellent when it is done for surfing and maybe as a developer tool but there are justifiable concerns that its rendering engine will result in yet another designer hassle. It is using webkit as its basis but it is not webkit per se. In addition it seems as though they are taking the former IE mentality to handle rendering for greatest compatibility and not consistency.

I’ll wait till the native mac version comes (I do run it on a PC in my office) (although I am going to be intsllalling parallels soon.)

          Cheers,

          Jay

I’m surprise 24 people voted for Opera... usually, no one likes it. Granted, it does have some pretty useless features like BitTorrent support, but I really do like it. One gripe I have about Opera, however, is that some sites don’t support it.. yet the newest version (in beta still I think) got a perfect 100/100 on the Acid3 test.... how is that possible, and sites sometimes don’t support it?

Opera doesn’t (or used to not) allow you to override the right-click behavior. That means it won’t be supported for the Revolution manager unfortunately.

Some sites are OMG FIREFOX FTW!, and block it on purpose. Or they use shitty code. If your site works in Firefox, it works the same basically in Opera (although there are some issues, like slight differences in padding, IIRC.

IIRC, going into the JavaScript options allows for checking off for JS to accept right-clicks. Turned off by default, though.

                  Acid3 is highly overrated.

And any browser that disables overriding of the right-click in today’s web-app driven world is not worth downloading, imho.

It also annoys me that Opera can’t implement Vista’s new Open/Save/etc. window scheme, and still uses the XP-style window. >.>

I’m the first Chrome User! Actually, I removed my vote for firefox. smiley I still use firefox mostly, but chrome is great for plain and simple browsing, or checking email.

I really like how fast it starts up as compared to IE and firefox.
