What id ShopX could any info from any table?
Say for your shop you needed: "company for" and "managers name". What if you get get ShopX to get info from any table where newtable.id = webuser.id
This way shopx could be even more flexible.

hi guys - i realy love the shop-x idea and want to use it in projects- big time!!
Only problem is that the setup instructions are sooooo vauge!
would it be possible for one of you guys who know how it works in its current state to post a simple 5 or 10 step guide explining the real basics of how things hook up?
im sure most people have got as far as installing the current snippets (std practice!) just need to know how these hook in to make the basic catalogue etc - i understand it is "not plug-and-play solution", and im more than happy to develop my applications from the ground up (and share the final info with others) i just need to get the ball rolling - id like to develop a corganics type aplication so just a little knowledge on how to setup and ill write a full beginners guide tutorial when i fugured it out!
All help is much apreciated - i feel like im about to touch somthing great just cannot quite reach!
regards..

Hey there, monkey man -
It’s true that there really isn’t a step-by-step guide yet. That’s because there still isn’t one coherent package that represents "ShopX" as implemented in various places. I hope to release my base files as an example by the end of the year, but I still have a lot of cleaning up to do before they will make any sense to anyone but me...
It shouldn’t be all that long now before this project gets up some more steam and there is a new release to work with, so please bear with us.
Just use Ditto to create your catalog pages.

I am so feeling the ShopX energy in this thread... I can see it now!
If you don’t mind me asking, what "shopping cart / payment gateway" would be a good choice for something to integrate ShopX with?
Being most of my eCommerce sites thus far have either been X-Cart or 1shoppingcart.com, I am curious to know any of your suggestions regarding real-time auth. shopping straight from MODx via ShopX.
- Does anyone have a suggestion based on one they’ve already used/planning on using?
I’ve got a site that will be offering 3 products...that’s it. Sounds perfect for MODx/ShopX doc. solution. However, 1shoppingcart.com would not be my first choice RE: payment processing... I’d like to utilize Authorize.net, can ShopX handle this natively?
I’m sure that ShopX can handle Authorize.Net. Susan wrote a module that processes payments through Echo, and that’s pretty much the same thing. It’s just a matter of sending the values to Authorize.Net in the way that they expect to receive them and then reacting to their response code, so the logic of doingt his with Echo is the same as with any similar gateway.

Ok. That’s what I was hoping to hear. I just didn’t know if (as I haven’t tested ShopX yet) it came with any pre-configured payment gateways, etc.
Probably a pretty good idea to get users to contribute their success with posts of their gateway snippets...could come packaged with ShopX in a "gateway repository"

I think Authorize would be a great one to support, as would Google Checkout and Paypal.
