Another idea is for MODx to hold competitions for people to submit blueprints for various types of sites. Then a panel of judges could determine which is the best blueprint for each particular type of site.
The winner can get some prize + bragging rights.
The best blueprints could then be compiled in a ebook and this ebook could be available for a certain amount of donation.
The reason why I choose MODx is because I don’t want to be like others.
I want to use my own xhtml, design and ideas. If I didn’t feel this way
I would probably still be using Joomla (be a slave).
Now if I help somebody on the forums I don’t have to give away _my_ solution,
because MODx offers 1009997621 solutions!
I think the MODx community rock because of it’s independent and creative web designers/web
developers. The day MODx says "this is the proper way of doing it"... MODx would be friggin
joomla crap....

These blueprints would just be the base on which each individual could build their sites.
Look at Zen Gardens, the same xhtml but what a varied number of sites.
Secondly, MODx cannot just survive on goodwill. To get ahead it needs financing. For example We want MODx revolution to get out of beta fast. With some sort of support for the developers they could get that done fast.
I’m not really arguing against you. I’m just very conservative (little more than 1 year with MODx

)
Well, see this:

I agree, Joomla is trash. However, we should take the good points of Drupal.
What Drupal is planning for Version 7 will provide very stiff competition for MODx.
So we cannot afford to slow down.
New ideas are needed, new ways for everybody to contribute in some way.
Well why not go crazy then and do the
envato MODx market place?
MODx evolution 1.0 even without any further development is a great tool.
I have tried many of these other solutions: They cannot compete with MODx flexibility and intuitiveness.
If you are good at xhtml, css and javascript ... MODx evo 1.0 is all you will ever need.
Bring on HTML 5.0, CSS 3 and any other similar changes ... MODx evo 1.0 will still be enough.
