How to build a basic MODx Blog with Comments

Need to put documents in the show blog folder, I had just put them in the input_blog folder

Another Question:

Can I enter new blog entries from the front -end?

Another problem now though:
When I click on comments I do not see the jot entry form. Jot works fine when on other documents on my site

Looks like it should be able to do this. Right now I can see the input_blog page. When I post it and go to the show_blog page I do not see the item. Also in the show_blog page all I see is the item I had placed in the folder. When I click on comments I can see the summary , but not the Jot entry form, I am able to use Jot outside of these pages.

i am quite new to modx tho i have worked with typo3 and joomla....
well i am currently trying to set this basic-blog thing up....

several questions:

Comments ([!Jot?&docid=`15`&action=`count-comments`!]) // what happend to the link ? i mean, this part "Comments ([!Jot?&docid=`15`&action=`count-comments`!])" its just inside the <a></a> and therefore plaintext. cant be correct or ?

Summary: blog eintrag blog eintrag
Link: Read more... // this works..it directly links to the page / article...

but...there aint the possibility to add a comment....
what the hell i am doing wrong ? i just followed the tutorial step by step...

This is my first experience with MODx 0.9.5 and I like its smoother features.

I’m puzzled a little about a feature of the MiniBlog.

I can comment on an entry. But I can’t see any way to commence a new entry. I think I’ve followed the instructions offered:

2. Create a new Webuser by clicking the Users > Manage web users link.
3. Make sure to check the Site Admins Webuser Group at the bottom of the page.
4. Go to the login page and login using this newly created Webuser information.
5. You should now notice a new Add a Blog Entry menu item that automatically appeared under the Blog Page link in the right column.

But I can’t find the foreshadowed:

Indeed I don’t think I have a Blog Page link in my "right column". Could it be assuming a different template. I’m running MODxhost at present.

I’ve checked the main blog page at http://www.edutainment.com.au/govsitetrends/index.php?id=9

But I can’t see any option other than making a comment.

Any clues or links would be appreciated. I have already resolved a modx parsing error that occurred because my host was running PHP 4 by re-editing the snippet. But I’m stumped on how you make an a new entry - which gets picked up by Ditto etc..

This may sound silly - but how do I get rid of the all the COMMENT INPUT FIELDS that are with each post? They are showing up on the main page, and I definitely don’t want them to.

what about insert categories to the blog?
