My clients are not very savy with html. We currently have tables in html, but they are in constant need of updating, and due to their lack of knowledge this has fallen on me. My developer misunderstood their lack of knowledge and the need for an easy table feature such as ms word... I’ll try what you advised, and see if they can manage. Thanks, so much for the reply!

How do you use file manager, specifically, if I wanted to upload documents that people can print off, where would I put them, and how would I link to them?
I would upload them to assets/files. There are any number of ways you can make them available for download. The easiest way is to just make a snippet that reads a given directory and gets the files into an array, then build out links based on the array.
Or try some of these out:

Thanks!!
And thanks for a topic where newbies can ask questions about the simple things.
It really has nothing to do with FCKEditor; it’s just that the browser MODx uses (mcpuck) was originally developed to work with FCKEditor.
If images aren’t showing, then you need to re-check the path and URL in the main site configuration (Tools -> Configuration) in the Interface and Features tab. For example, on my localhost mine are
File Base Path: /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/5615/assets/
File Browser URL: assets/

Hi, and thank you for your response. Did you mean Resource Path, and Resource URL?
Thanks!
Yes. What it’s called depends on your version, as some terminology is being changed as MODx evolves.

Thank you for your response Sottwell. We’ve checked the path and everything seems to be in order. Is there another possible reason it’s not letting us insert pics?
