My site was migrated from here (where it was working fine):
    http://www.loewy.com/info.php

To here (where the manager is now broken as described above):
    http://72.47.222.55/info.php

Is there a resolution on this? Do I have to move these guys to another server? I would really hate to have to do that at this point. :’(

    Regards,
    Matt

I just thought of something, is it possible that the issue here is that I don’t have a domain name associated with the site? Could the manager be breaking because I’m using an IP address?

      Regards,
      Matt

I don’t think so. I’ve installed modx on non-domain sites (i.e. access via ip only) several times without problems.
I can see http://72.47.222.55/manager/ just fine, btw.

Yea, it’s inconsistant. If you refresh the page a couple of times, you’ll see it turns into a blank page. I can duplicate this in Firefox, Safari, IE6.

          Matt

Ok, I looked thought the server logs and I think I found what’s breaking the manager. There are a series of fatal errors that are being shown. These are the fatal errors. These errors are in no particular order:

[Tue Apr 22 09:07:18 2008] [error] [client 24.46.189.216] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function startCMSSession() in /var/www/vhosts/rogosin.org/httpdocs/manager/processors/login.processor.php on line 17, referer: http://72.47.222.55/manager/

[Tue Apr 22 09:08:07 2008] [error] [client 24.46.189.216] PHP Fatal error: Class ’DocumentParser’ not found in /var/www/vhosts/rogosin.org/httpdocs/manager/index.php on line 131, referer: http://72.47.222.55/manager/

[Thu Mar 20 14:52:45 2008] [error] [client 24.46.189.216] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function getTinyMCESettings() in /var/www/vhosts/rogosin.org/httpdocs/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(745) : eval()’d code on line 50, referer: http://72.47.222.55/manager/index.php?a=1&f=menu

[Fri Mar 21 07:16:55 2008] [error] [client 24.46.189.216] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function getTinyMCELang() in /var/www/vhosts/rogosin.org/httpdocs/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(745) : eval()’d code on line 41, referer: http://72.47.222.55/manager/index.php?a=3&id=6&opened=2|0|

            Can anyone tell me:

1- Why these errors are being triggered?
            2- How to fix them?

The manager worked for about 20 minutes this morning and then stopped working altogether. The last fatal error it recorded at the time of stopping was "PHP Fatal error: Class ’DocumentParser’ not found"

            Regards,
            Matt

Ok so am i to assume there is no resolution on this issue, and currently it cannot be fixed? I’m going to move them to a server I know works if that’s the case but it really sucks to have to do this since we have a reseller hosting account with Media Temple. Can any last resort recommendations be made?
              Matt:

Unfortunately, without more details about the environment on this MediaTemple shared hosting account, including php configuration and MySQL configuration details, it’s going to be very hard to trace the actual issue you are encountering. I’m sure there is something causing this behavior, and it is likely the environment, but you’ll have to decide if the time required to diagnose this yourself (with just volunteer help from the community) is worth figuring out the problem.

                Jason,
I provided the server details in a previous post. It’s here:
                http://72.47.222.55/info.php

Media Temple of course says they won’t support the software and it’s up to me (or us) to fix it. huh
I also posted a series of fatal errors shown by the log files that might give the community more clues to work with. Oh and it’s not a shared account, it’s a virtual dedicated account. Sorry about that.

                Regards,
                Matt
                • Matt, I can’t find anything indicative of the errors you posted from looking at the configuration. Is most perplexing. Have you already made sure the SearchHighlight plugin was fixed or disabled, as indicated in other threads about blank pages and 0.9.6.1p2? And have you checked your event_log table (use phpmyadmin if the manager won’t view it)?

                    Jason,
I just found this thread; http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,24059.0.html. This is the problem i’m having almost to the letter. i’ll follow up with this thread and see if this has been resolved or there is some new insight.

                    Regarding your post:

                    1) Can you paste the thread talking about disabling the Syntax Highlighter here? I couldn’t find that, and I figure it’s worth a shot.
                    2) The SQL Event log table just shows old messages that have been taken care of a ways back (ie: install directory is gone, config file is no longer writable...)

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.
                    Regards,
                    Matt

Search Highlighter is what I meant, sorry; see http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,22966.msg144502.html#msg144502
