  • I know about htat , but the develloper of Jot does not seems to have the time to come back on the forum and give the status of the current devellopment of jot for revolution.

On the wish list, i’ve seen that most of the asked functionality are being develloped.

It’s really sad that MODx does not provide nested or thereaded comment while all the other popular CMSs do.

You might find the Jot developer from modx irc channel on freenode...

And if you want to help with that, you can probably ask shaun (splittingred) for more details.

        • Comment applications are one of the most complex types of applications to build. Honestly I and a number of modx folks have used JSKit for commenting. While a native comment/forum application would be nice it is certainly a great service that can be integrated and has many features most people want.

You could additionally create a module with an iframe to show the jskit manager page in the manager.

I would be very interested in making this work cipa. Could you do a tutorial on it when you have time?

I don’t see any JS effects at all when I view the demo (FF3.5.7. Nothing happens when I click on an event. In fact, it looks exactly like the default calendar Google puts on your page except that the Google calendar has a few more functions (like copying the event to your own Google calendar) and the popups work.

The only advantage I see over Google is better wrapping of the event name in the calendar cells (which Google may have fixed by now). The Google calendar is pretty much plug-and-play.

This code does a calendar almost exactly like the one shown, assuming that you have a Google account and a calendar there:

                  <iframe height="588" frameborder="0" width="480" src="http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=yoursite.com&title=YourCalendarName&chrome=NAVIGATION&bgcolor=%23f5fffa&height=588" style="border-width: 0pt;"></iframe>

You have to edit and enter the events at Google, but their UI is very easy to use and I have clients who had no trouble learning to do it.

I was thinking something like... show all the documents from some folder (ID=1234) in calendar. When clicked on the doc, goes to that document URL... etc...

If this can be done with your suggestion, I want to know how smiley hehe

I feel guilty about helping to hijack this thread. Note that the thread is for feature requests for the *Forum*, not for MODx itself.

So, further discussion of calendar add-ons for MODx should probably be in a new topic (or in one of the many existing calendar threads).
