I was wondering if any one here could help me with an issue I'm having.
I agreed to help a volunteer organisation to upgrade their website, however I don't have much experience with web development so I'm having some trouble.
Their site is currently running modX evo 1.06. I want to Install the site on localhost so that I can work on it or upgrade it etc. I installed xampp locally, and imported their database.
Now I want to actually install the website in xampp/htdocs so that I can view it under localhost/websitename.com but it doesn't seem to be working - it displays a blank page when I go to localhost/website/manager and when I go to localhost/website it says 'page can not be displayed'.
I've tried following the 'moving site' tutorial from rtfm.modx.com but it doesn't seem to have worked and I'm not sure why. One of the points said to try going to localhost/website/install to do a custom install - however the install files have been deleted. I downloaded evo 1.06 from the modx website and pasted the install files from that into my root folder. Now when I go to website/install it goes as far as asking me what language to install and then it displays a blank page.
If anyone could offer me help on this I'd really appreciate it.

What version of PHP is in your xampp?
