But preventing "right-click" and "save as", will diminish the likelihood of stealing with 60%, as most basic users don't know source code.

I dont agree at all with your assumption - watermarking the images ruins the image so the end-user wont want to keep or copy the watermarked version - but, watermarking on the fly isnt something I would do

I personaly edit & watermark images before they go online

Why do you think Getty images watermark their images, because they know they will be ripped and used if not - and they have tons of users who still buy licences even though the images are watermarked

The other thing with right click etc. is a load of rubbish - the easiest solution for someone who wants your images is either "drag & drop to desktop" or simply save the page (CTRL + S)

If you put an image on the net it will be copied ripped cloned whatever, no matter what you try to do against it - you can't win

        True that!.

There are viewers, the mere browsing folk, and then there are grabbers, those people who use all sorts of browser extensions to sniff and get what they want (whether they know source code or not), and then of course there are the web developers.

Viewers have no business with your images.

Any person who right-clicks on an image already is gathering momentum to steal that image.
I for one, know very well how I have been severely provoked by someone who locked out my right-clicking ability.
I went the farthest length to rip that content, and I did it with glee.

Disabling right-click should only be done for UI effect/functionality, not security.

Harden your MODX site by passwording your three main folders: core, manager, connectors and renaming your assets (thank me later!)
5 ways to sniff / hack your own sites; even with renamed/hidden folders, burst them all up, to see how secure you are not.
