    Hi all,

I am aware this issue has been brought up before here: https://forums.modx.com/thread/13321/fatal-error-modx-setup-cannot-continue-make-sure-your-php-session-configurati

But, to be honest, I have no idea what the solutions was. User nekosama says "I just erased all sessions files in /tmp"

But when I check in there there is nothing to erase.

Also, this is on a shared server where each other Modx installation has worked fine (around 30 others). I have no idea why this one is different. I even tried terminating the account and creating a new one.

Can anyone help me out here?

    Thanks!

Find out where the default PHP session expects to be stored - usually /tmp on the server. Make sure that directory is writable by PHP. In many cases, shared-hosting requires a directory specified for each account, usually a tmp folder in the account's file system just above its web root. In some cases, a folder needs to be created and the php.ini file needs to be told where that is.

MODX itself by default uses a custom session storage system using the database. But the installer/setup uses default PHP session storage.
