I wonder if it has anything to do with the <base href="http://mydomain.com/"></base> thingy.

see, I have this in my page header (and not in anywhere else) and it still shows in the error log.
    <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/js/left-nav-effects.js"></script>

maybe that last / in the base href shouldn’t be there?

The trailing / in the base tag should be there, otherwise the relative paths would need a leading / in front of them, wouldn’t they?

I looked again on their page, it seems that *something* generates the prefix /’+libraryName+’/ to the scripts and repeats the path several times.
at first I thought it happens only with one script, but as can be seen in the attached image (sorry for the size) it happens on several javascripts I use, some not even in any snippet but are in the template source (like hoover menus)

I think this "something" is Internet Explorer 6/7 in combination with BASE URL tag and relative paths to script/resources but I’m not sure...

I’m using the base ref tag and relative links to mootools.js & swfobect.js throughout the site.
We get 20,000 hits per day, mainly from IE6/7 users and these errors appear relatively few times (compared to the number of page hits) .
It’s early days yet, but since I changed the offending // in the gallery template no more errors have appeared.

Okay more errors appeared, mainly from a single IP address.
After checking the IP address it seems to be a googlebot, so I have added to my robots.txt file :
              Disallow: /assets/js/

This seems to have slowed the errors but not eradicated them.

@bunk59 I dont know if your situation is like mine, but in my case I noticed that all the scripts path errors were to JS’s I have in my template headers.
I tried changing my header paths to absolute URLs and now it’s the 2nd day that I don’t see any error in the log.

don’t know why the <base> tag didn’t work as expected, at least it *looks* for now that its working with absolute URL.

I’m down to odd ones, not even everyday.
I’ll try the full path in the header of the template and see if it clears them completely.
                  Thanks sinbad
