Hi there,
I am new to MODX Evolution and very excited about using it.
Currently I am developing a Bootstrap 3 template with all the Bootstrap features, "goodies" (e.g. CSS, LESS, SASS, JQuery plugins) and the plugins that Bootstrap offers, e.g. video player, calendar, comments feature. In addition, I have some custom JS/JQuery code as well for infinite scrolling social media voting / commenting features in particular.
My question is if there are any known incompatibility issues or warnings I have to consider between Bootstrap 3, all its "goodies" including my own "extras" and MODX Evolution CMS???
I may want to use some of the popular MODX Evo extras as well, such as wayfinder, getresouces, getpages, formit, ditto, gallery, etc.
Thanks.
You can use, so far as I am aware, any HTML / CSS / JS combo - the restriction is down to you, not on the system you wish to use
Other users have already ported Bootstrap templates into Evo & Revo
Please don't get mixed up here - EVO does not have "getresouces, getpages, formit".
You are mixing Evo & Revo extras - Evo & Revo are two different systems, or at least two different cores.
The functionality is similar

Indeed, MODX has no restrictions on what HTML, CSS or Javascript you can use.
Here is an Evo example

I'm building this one using
Bootstrap Agency http://mobile.sottwell.modxcloud.com
It would work just as well with Evo, mostly just different tag syntax and the appropriate Evo snippets to aggregate the various bits of content.

My experience with Bootstrap isn't that great thow, got a bit mixed feelings.
I rather build responsive sites myself starting from scrap

The first fase of building is pritty nice and fast with Bootstrap but at the end it isn't faster (in my case).
When it needs to be a littlebit different then the trouble begins.
But thats my opinion about Bootstrap.

Thx, its kinda the same as Bootstrap thow, I guess I'd like to do it too custom.
If you really build allot with it you probably will find a fast way to build with it.

well, I had some trouble to learn to customize bootstrap, but ultimately I could do what I wanted. It was definitely easy to get going but also not so very easy to get precisely what you want. I guess its not the end all be all but is useful. I can't remember any real compromises I had to make in the end.
Susan, that's a nice site you have made. I would ask that the contents on the left of the top pic have a little less transparency and ideally a sharper border, so I can see it a little more clearly and it would stand out a bit more. But overall very nice.
