No, I just tried it. All the resources in the web context get the TinyMCE even in the Manager interface.

I also tried group settings, and just ended up with no RTE at all. User setting for Redactor gave me TinyMCE anyway. I thought user settings were supposed to override group settings, which would override context settings, which would override system settings. Definitely something not working as expected.
Thank you for checking, Susan. This is an unfortunate turn.
I did contact Mark H. at modmore about using Redactor on the front, and while he said it's a fairly common request it's probably not going to get implemented anytime soon. So it seems as far as NP is concerned it's TinyMCE or nothing for the foreseeable future.

Try adding &whichEditor=`TinyMCE` to the NewsPublisher snippet tag.
That really should work, but if it doesn't work, first try manually deleting the cache files. It that doesn't work, try commenting out this line (502) in the NewsPublisher class file
$whichEditor = $this->modx->getOption('which_editor', $this->props,'TinyMCE');
and adding this line:
$whichEditor = 'TinyMCE';

Is your previous post supposed to make it possible to use Tiny for NP and a different RTE for the Manager? If so, it's not working for me. TinyMCE is displacing CKE in the Manager.

It is, but I didn't test it. Are you sure CKE is in the which_editor System Setting (and/or Context Setting or User Setting)?
I don't see how changing that line in NP or adding a snippet property could affect the Manager's processing of the System Setting.
which_editor is set to CKE but I was unaware of the Context/User RTE setting. Is this something I need to manually add in Menu > Contexts > Context Settings? Or somewhere else?

No, it would only matter if there were an existing which_editor Context Setting or User Setting with TinyMCS as the value. That would override the System Setting.
Hmmm, then I'm not sure why it's not working for me, I followed your suggestions/instructions.

My suggestions might not work, but I don't see how they could make TinyMCE run in the Manager if it's not set in which_editor. Maybe I'm missing something (or it's a cache issue of some kind -- MODX, or browser).
