changing RewriteBase /Site5 to RewriteBase /ie should work.

You need to rename the directory from Site5 to ie as well, the folder name needs to be the same as the base path.

The steps would be to :
    1) clear the cache and logout,
    2) rename the folder to ie,
    3) edit the htaccess file
    4) access the site at the new directory: domain.com/ie

    This should do it.

In the error you describe the path is modx/index.php, shouldn’t it be ie/index.php?

BTW - that is a nice looking site laugh

        RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /ie/index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA]

happy days, unfortunately the folder structure i was left with is a mess from before

there is an old modX website installed at the root Dir but inside of this there is another Dir with an old website in it and now ANOTHER folder again with my website in it, just a great big mess
