Cannot get mail to work for an email account that uses Gmail as the MX server

If from= and to= is the same emailaddress you might want to add that to safe senders.
I lately had a Eform which suddenly was delivered into the Google Apps Mail spam folder.

I just found out there are properties I need to fill in in the Snippet file, both FormIt and QuickEmail. FromEmail, Subject, etc. So I did. But it still fail with the same error message.

I assume that you're using the MODX SMTP system settings. Aside from username and password, what are they set to?

I set it to whatever Gmail says the setting should be. Here's my Mail setting from the System Settings:

SMTP Hosts: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Keep-Alive: Yes

Use SMTP: Yes

First, I would remove the Helo Message setting. I've never needed it.

A more likely cause of the problem, though, is that you're missing the Connection Prefix. Try tls, and if that doesn't work, try ssl for that setting.

It works after I put the ssl as Connection Prefix! Thank you so much for your help!
What exactly is the connection prefix do and for?

It tells Gmail what kind of connection you want to make. If it's blank, Gmail won't make the connection.
