Hi,
It's been a few weeks since I last logged in and under my username it says:
Since your last visit – no new posts, no new PMs, no unread replies
Now, I'm sure there'll have been posts but the site isn't giving me a list of new ones.
I noticed this awhile back when I was logging in every day or so but to not have any new posts over several weeks means something must be wrong. I'm using Firefox.
Thanks,
-

Are you sure that you have cookies enabled and persistent for the site? I have my browser set to clear history, cache and cookies when I close my browser, with an exception set for modx.com so that my cookies from here are persistent.
Jup I have it also, noticed it long time ago, when I click on 'no unread replies' sometimes there are messages. I think it has to do with the emails, I have visited the page with email/or wrote it only in email. There is something not completely correct, the other 2 links are correct thow. (FF) I don't have any crazy settings going on.

Oh, this is related:

Evolution user, I like the back-end speed and simplicity

Well, I don't think the email notifications is related to this. The email stuff is for when you post a new thread and someone replies to it. Its different.
It must be the cookie issue, if the functionality works for others (and a lot of others), then I can't see how it can be anything else but an issue with cookies.
I've just checked Firefox and no cookies for forums.modx.com ... then cleared all other modx cookies and still the same. Chrome same too. When I hover over the 'no new posts' link it says 'View 0 unread posts in 42 days'.
I agree that it must be cookie related.
I suppose it could theoretically be some weird bug that only affects you, but its unlikely.
You should have cookies if you are visiting the site. Do you have a cookie blocker or an anonymizing tool running in your browser? If you aren't receiving the cookie then that's weird unless you aren't receiving any cookies at all, from any site...
I see this regularly, but if I click on the 'no unread replies' link, I usually see a list of unread replies. I think the unread posts, other than replies, are lost, though.
I've never been able to figure out what circumstances trigger it. It might be the result of someone clearing sessions in the Manager while I'm logged in.
Ok, well I'm glad it's not just me.
As others have pointed out, the problem does discourage participation. If I could see a list of new posts then I'm more likely to post a reply.
Is there somewhere to raise bugs for this website?
