I’ve been looking for an answer to my problem in the forums, but with no luck. My problem is I have a site running ModX 096p2 that shows up when you go to the domain, but typing in /manager pulls up a blank page. I know the site is running through ModX, but the manager won’t initialize. The source is blank too. Any ideas?

[EDIT] This seems to be a Media Temple server issue, but please read on - I need all the help I can get.

Can you provide much more information? Did it work at one time (I mean how else did you get the site built) and just stop all of a sudden? If so, might see what the hosting provider changed recently...

Yes, sorry. The installation went on as planned and I was able to edit the site and all was working for a few logins. Then, after just a few hours away I came back to it and tried to login again. That’s when the blank page was coming up. I can access the site, but have no access to the manager. I’m hosting with MediaTemple. I don’t know that there were any upgrades or changes to the hosting service. I signed up for the services the same day I installed ModX and that was yesterday. Thanks. Let me know if there was anything specific you wanted to know as far as details go.

Try clearing your browser cache and any cookies for the domain. Whenever I’ve had that happen it was a cookie problem; usually because I did an upgrade or something without logging out first. But I have my browser set to delete cookies when I close the browser (with a few exceptions, this site for example so I stay logged in), so it doesn’t happen much any more.

Thank you Sottwell for the reply, but I had no luck. I tried that the first time. I cleared, my cache and cookies, but still no luck. I tried it again with no success. Is there anything specific that I should be looking for? OpenGeek mentioned that MediaTemple might have changed something in the last couple days...What would that be? Thanks again.

OK. I upgraded the install. Still not working. After the upgrade, it went to the /manager and the page was still blank. What changes should I be looking for with Media Temple? Has anyone ever had this problem? Please help, thanks.

Try looking at the MySQL DB with phpMyAdmin. At the very least, you can back up the database and then delete everything and reinstall. There may be a corrupt file somewhere.

Have you tried different web browsers?

It’s fixed. I don’t know what the problem was, but restarting the APACHE server did the trick. Any ideas? Well, at least it works. Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry, not fixed.

I guess it’s not fixed. Media Temple had register_globals on and restarted the apache server. It worked for one login, then half the frames in the manager stopped working. I would refresh and nothing. Refresh again and I could see the doc tree. Refresh again and the top menu would appear. Try to save something in the configuration and I got "Failed to update setting value!" or something to that effect.

Very strange behavior. Any ideas what could be causing all these weird issues.

Am I posting in the right place? Is there a better place for my questions?

It seems restarting the Apache server is the only way to get the manager to show up. And since I’m not a programmer, I don’t know what this means. Does anyone know why the manager would be so on/off and why restarting the apache server temporarily fixes it... At least until I try to save a page or edit/save a chunk or snippet. THen  one or two of the frames begin to disappear. I’m totally lost.  :’(

The moment I hit save after editing a document or resource - the frame disappears. Reloading will sometimes bring it back and sometimes I’ll lose all the frames and I’m back to the blank page.
