Chrome & Firefox: Navigation confirm exiting from unchanged document

In manager, when I leave form an UNCHANGED document the browser show me a "Navigation Confirm" popup asking me if I want to leave with unsaved changes.
I noted that it is launched when the document type is "Resource" with Rich Text option enabled (TinyMCE) or WebLink.
It's really annoying, how to resolve it?

Was this site an upgrade from 2.2.10 that you've been previously logged into? What constitutes a change is the cursor moving in any field. Not saying there is not a bug here but just want to narrow down the paramaters of the issue.

Same here. Click a resource in the tree, then click another resource without doing anything at all, not even moving the mouse over anything, and the message appears. Upgraded from 2.2.10.

If you're going to add a feauture like this, please give as a system setting to turn it off. Is there one? [ed. note: rainbowtiger last edited this post 12 years, 8 months ago.]

Wow, it gets worse. I just open a resource, changed it from a document to a weblink, then saved it, and got the message "are you sure you want to leave the page"!! Talk about confusing . . .

This is happening for me as well in Revo 2.2.11. I have testet in the following browsers: Firefox, Chrome and IE, but the same message pops up in all three browsers. Before it was only in Chrome, but now it is also Firefox and IE.

BobRay, I have tried the fix you are linking till, but the line in questien in update.js does not exist.

Hope you guys can find a solution for this as my client is complaining. :-/

Go re-read the part of the thread that talks about force refreshing the javascript in your browser after an upgrade. The changes in 2.2.11 make the unwanted alerts go away in the most recent Chrome 32 updates AND prevent navigating away from a Resource when you have actually made changes.

Yes, the site was upgraded from 2.2.10, I cleared the cache (also used anonymous navigation), but the issue still persists.
Message is shown also without moving cursor in the fields.

As mentioned in the other thread this is happenig more frequently now after upgrading to 2.2.11. On Articles it is happening all the time. Would be great if somebody has a fix as my customer is complaining. I have cleared the browser cache, logged out, logged in, done a force refresh (ctrl+f5), tried commenting out code in update.js... nothing works. Does the MODx manager has it's own cache-folder that I could try deleting?
