It looks like pThumb refers to the phpThumbOf cache folder, but the files are inside the pThumb folder. Can you set "Use pThumb cache" in system settings to "yes"? Lets see what it does.

      Hi Gallenkamp,

I have enable 'Use pThumb cache' in the system settings.
The link to the image is still broken. I can see some images in the new cache folder (assets/image-cache/img/...)
However from the auto-generated html the link is /assets/image-cache/img/...

That is why the link image is broken. (the back slash in front of assets should be removed).
What should I do in this case? How to tell pThumb to generate '<img src="assets/image-cache/img/mockupnews.012fc133.png" alt="The third event Photo"> but not <img src="/assets/image-cache/img/mockupnews.012fc133.png" alt="The third event Photo">

Hm, here are my settings. From what I see, there is no difference. Maybe you get me an account in the manager and I take a look around? Contact me as guido.gallenkamp at the big evil googlemail.

btw: my images are all in another folder:
        /assets/components/phpthumbof/cache/107.b1106061bbb5e686348861f6000d2d95.jpg

I don't think it is the issue about the setting. It's the way modx process the link.
The link is broken because from the link from image ( <img src="...">) It's absolute path to http://mydomain/assets/image-cache/....
However, the link above doesn't work because I have place the development site in subfolder called 'modx'. So if the path to the image is 'http://mydomain/modx/assets/image-cache/....' this would be fine.

Are there any ways to make the path point to the right absolute link before I move the live one.

          Thank you.

Ah, ok. I'd try and put the subfolder "modx/" in front of the "assets/image-cache/" system settings.

If your htaccess is set up properly, you should be also able to add [[++site_url]] before the TV placeholder.

++siteurl will cause the browser to fire another dns request, so the site will slow down a bit. The better way is the relative url.

Thanks to all you guys. I can make it work by both Garret and gallenkamp suggested.
