The cPanel login credentials should be the same as the ones for the hosting service (but not the same as the MODX Manager credentials).
Code guard sounds good but there's really no budget for this, at all!
Do you have a budget for recovering the site if something goes wrong ? $5 is very low for a daily backup service of that quality, if you backed up the site every day for a month it would cost more in your hourly wage![]()
I've been using BkupMODx from the Extras for quite a while to back up Evo, WordPress and Clipper sites. It creates one zip file from selected folders and files, plus an SQL file of the database. There's a bit of back-and-forwards through menus to request the backup and then download the archive, but it's a very handy tool all the same. The only real problem I've had is to do with handling of UTF-8, which I use as standard. I've overcome that with a couple of edits to the relevant class file (attached).
Configuration can be a little fiddly, so I made myself a script that unzips the package on the server and generates the relevant config file.
No budget required, just a little investment of time to get going!

Hmm, well unfortunately I'm not (in the slightest) familiar with UTF-8 or these steps![]()
I was hoping that there would be some kind of way to just export the site!
So the script you attached, does that automate the process? Sorry to be a pain, I'm happy to invest a bit of time though.
Which version of MODx is the site using?
