I think it may have something to do with how the page is cached. This is something that I've never really understood - but JASONderulo works without ! in the call. When I use the ! in the TwitterX call, the whole call shows up on my page. Without it I get the error.

I know the exclamation point has something to do without cacheing but again, this has always confused me and I think I must have a setting different on this ModX install that is causing it to not work.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

      Hi Michael,

I'd like to help fix this if I can. That error message comes directly from Twitter as the response back contains an error code and message.
The keys you have created, are they definitely correct?
Did you create these keys for the twitter account you are trying to access?
I wonder if it is because your key contains an unusual character like a `-` or `_` etc.

      Thanks,
        Stewart

Looking at your example page I can see that the keys are wrapped in <span> tags - could this be the cause? Ideally you should call the snippet outside of a richtext editor as tinyMCE can sometimes add formatting.

Hi Stewart - Thanks for responding to this post. I really like TwitterX and I have used it successfully on another site. I just couldn't get it working on this one. I did remove all of the span tags and I'm sure the keys are all correct. I plugged them into JASONDerulo and it's working fine. I suspect it has something to do with the page cacheing but I don't really understand the cacheing very well in ModX. On the site TwitterX is working fine on I used your code exactly, no problems. On this site when I keep the "!" in the call, the whole call shows up on the page. When I remove it, I get the Twitter Error.

Maybe it's something else. I just didn't know how to fix it and none of the suggestions here helped. So, we went with the other plugin because it was working.

I would still love to use your plugin if possible especially on more sites that I will be building in the future so I hope I can get to the bottom of the issue.

I do appreciate you trying to help.

            Hi,
Can you try the call in a template or chunk (ie not inside tinymce) as this could add extra tags?
Let's try this first - can you let me know if the keys contain any non (a-z 0-9) characters as this *could* be it...

Hi Stewart, Sorry it took a bit to respond to this. Just wanted to let you know that putting in a chunk worked. I guess that's the way I should approach these items in the future. I appreciate you getting back to me and helping me with this.

              Take care!
