special characters getting lost and changed into weird characters

    Hi, I just encountered a similar issue.

    I have a text-field in MIGX with German "Umlaute" (äöü). After reopening the MIGX Form to edit, it would always break.
    The problem in my case was, that the request response from the connector.php was in the charset iso-8859-1.

    I fixed it by adding
    AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
    in the root .htaccess file.

    Hope this helps somebody/someday.
