Hey guys....
Thank you all for your help, I searched google 4 the error message I was getting on the manager, and found a post that said to upgrade the version of MODx with the same version...ie run the installer again and choose upgrade.
I did this and it ran fine. I can now see my site again
Still no idea why it happend, as I cant see how making a small edit to a template could do this?
