Newbie to modx, installed on localhost (XAMPP), everything worked great, can browse system without error.
However, I cannot log in to Manager module. System will not accept my username+password combination. I’ve performed a fresh install 4 times, clearing the MYSQL database and starting anew. Has anyone else experienced this or is able to provide advice?
Thanks -- Glen

Try clearing your browser cookies for that site. And keep in mind that the login is case sensitive.
Hi,
Overhere the same problem. Searched all topics about this issue, tried every solution, but it didn’t help.(setting in php.ini the save path to ./)
I’ve attached the screen i get when trying to log in to the admin after a clean install.
So i get a pop up (in firefox or int. explorer) with ’ok’ and nothing more info on it. when clicking on ok i get the same login page again.
Versions:
Modx 0.9.6
Apache 2.0.52
PHP 4.3.9
MySql 4.1.2
Thank you for your help (if possible...)
Hi,
I’ve turned the error display on. Now I get this error in the popup window:
<b>Fatal error<b>: Cannot instantiate non-existent class: errorhandler in
<b>/var/www/modx/manager/processors/login.processor.php<b> on line <b>45</b>
Please, I need help with this one...
thanks.

Sounds to me like you are missing some core files, or, if this is on a remote host, a core file possibly got corrupted during FTP transfer. It’s a more common problem than you would think. Simply double-check, and if possible, re-upload the files (or re-extract the archive) to make sure all the files are being transferred properly.
thanks, will check this immediately. Was already giving it up and going back to Joomla...:-)
Will let you know if it helped.

I’ve occasionally had random files not upload properly; I guess it’s something to do with my FTP client. Since the last couple of updates to it, I haven’t had any more problems.
still not working, downloaded it 2 times, chekcjed filesizes, everything ok... but still the same...
baucis,
I had this problem one time when I tried migrating an entire MODx site from one site to another. When you install, are you doing a New Install? (Step 4, i believe in the install process) If you AREN’T, try that. When you have the option to overwrite/install default pages on the next step, choose to NOT install those. If that doesn’t work, for some reason, check settings in your php.ini. I know some hosts, such as Bluehost, now offer something they call FAST CGI, which in fact does nothing for CGI but is a script that is set to speed up and cache PHP pages on their servers, instead of just on peoples’ browsers. Make sure this isn’t enabled, I had a lot of problems with this when it first came out.
