Looks like something is loading in a loop, loading over and over again until it runs out of memory.

Definitely a loop in there somwhere. MODx doesn't use that much RAM. According to the log, it happened when it came from a particular referrer. Can you confirm that this is the case? That is, does it work normal with a direct typed in request? Does this only happen in the backend manager or also in the frontend?

Do you have a plugin connected to OnPageNotFound? That's a common cause of infinite loops.

I am using MODX Revolution 2.2.4-pl (traditional).
Im not sure if I have any plugins using OnPageNotFound is there an easy way of finding out?
I have attached some of the responses I am getting from the front end and back end.
The errors mainly happen in the backend but when requesting images through the frontend via the gallery addon there are failures there too.

Basically, what you do is go to the Elements tab. Open the node that says Plugins. Open each Plugin and go to the System Events tab. Scroll down to OnPageNotFound. If it has a check, it uses OnPageNotFound

I'm not familiar with Gallery, personally, but I've been told that there have been issues with it. I've never seen this error in reference to it, but the gurus may know more. I would follow @BobRays suggestion and check your Plugins first.

Thanks for the help. I have looked through the plugins and none of them use OnPageNotFound.
I have been doing some more testing tho and I think it is a hosting issue.
I have downloaded a copy of modx and installed it localy with no problems.
If I create a new subdomain on my hosting provider eukhost and install a fresh copy using softaculous straight away I get the 1gig errors.

I've seen reports of other people having trouble with softaculous and SimpleScripts installs. You may have to install MODX the old fashioned way.
