Ok, getting there, your pointers here are working for sure, but the comment appears on the front end without having been approved first in the back end. And still, each time you click on a particular tag re-produces the url, so if you clicked the 'tag' 5 times for example, then the url multiplies and appears 5 times in the address bar.
Sorry, was coding. OK... For approval, you have to adjust the Quip call. That's not worthwhile until all of the fixes are applied... Where are you still having problems (be specific)?
I have to admit, i'm still in a spin trying to get this working even at a basic level. I amended all the quip chunks as you listed no problem and changed those two calls in the Article template. So now comments do appear on the page. The problem now is that any comments posted appear on the front end immediately without any kind of approval. I've checked all advanced settings and it is set so that any comments should be approved first, although this isn't happening.
Also, when writing a new article from the manager, although it's possible to add an image, that image does not appear in the article on the front end.
And my point with the 'tags' is that if you click on any one of them, it duplicates the url. So if you where to click on a tag a dozen times, then the url in the browser bar would appear a dozen times back to back as well which i'm sure isn't right.
I've checked all advanced settings and it is set so that any comments should be approved first, although this isn't happening.
This is because we are using Quip instead of the comments placeholder now. This is easy to fix. In the Article Template change your code:
[[QuipReply? &thread=`article-b[[*parent]]-[[*id]]` &requireAuth=`1` ]]
To:
[[QuipReply? &thread=`article-b[[*parent]]-[[*id]]` &requireAuth=`1` &moderate=`true`]]
The full documentation for Quip is here:

The documentation for adding a Comment (uses Quip.Reply) is here:

Regarding your Images.... I have no clue. I don't manage images with my Articles blogs.
... 'tags' is that if you click on any one of them...
Yup. Same dealio. This one sucks though, because the fix requires you to fix it for the Container, all already created Articles (via mySQL or phpMyAdmin), and make a new Chunk (I think 2 actually). Tags is the ONLY one that you cannot copy from the File System and still have it work. Bleah... I've literally been typing tutorials all night. So give me a few hours to actually rest and then I'll tell you how to fix the Tags.
Well thanks, i really appreciate your help with this. I've just made those adjustments to the call and now moderation is working.
Although it sends the notification message to the person who left the comment and asks them if they want to approve it, Doh! I'm sure this is down to a setting somewhere
Yup. Don't get me wrong... I love Articles, but I almost blew up my computer getting them to work. And I have (right now) 17 Blogs on the same website. And they couldn't all use the same Template... so I had to do what you're doing 4 times, except I screwed it up a few before that.
Once it is set up, it works like a dream, though...
The link to QuipReply that I gave you tells you how to set who the moderator is. Read the link... Its just a parameter. You can do it by user or by group
I can relate to what you're saying there about the scale and time involved in working with modx, albeit on my level as a beginner or someone like yourself with a lot more experience and from a coding / programing background.
I did set the moderator, but for some reason it appears to be getting over ridden and using another email address. I can't find where the email address it's using may be set.
