lol. We have already been using wordpress for a while now for several of our other sites. It works quite well, and i see no reason to waste the amount of time it would require to learn a new CMS.
Also it is not up to me. Im just the code monkey. I dont make the decisions. I happen to agree with the decision maker in this case, but that is beside the point.

It's erroneous to assume that learning MODX is a waste of time and it's unfortunate that you feel that way due to meta tags. Might I suggest that you give yourself a gift, and check out Revolution in your spare time someday.

the meta tags have nothing to do with my decision. at this point in time i neither have the need, the time, nor the patience to learn MODX.
and to be completely honest, based on what ive observed, i think in the next few years MODX, Jumla, Drupal and pretty much every other stand alone CMS will give way to WordPress. WP is the fastest growing, and continues to be the most popular (and easiest to use) CMS around.

Im sorry to all you MODX fans, but WP is far easier and just as powerful, if not more so.

Guys everyone has their preference and tim I honestly think you made the right choice.

If you already know WP and it's faster for you to solve the issue instead of spending hours maybe weeks trying to learn MODX then you have clearly made the right choice.

I know we all love MODX but think if we were in tims situation would you waste your time trying to figure out how to fix something in WP and spend countless hours or would you rather scrap it and convert it to MODX?

Tim was looking for a an easy solution the problem is we have no idea how the developer setup his site and I think this is one of the things that is both good and bad about MODX because there's no standard on how things are done and each developer does things differently.

Tim WP is the most popular there's no doubt about it but popular does not mean it's better.

If you decide to one day try to learn MODX we'll be here to help, because we can all get along smiley

Haven´t you noticed for your self ? The architecture of modx adapts to the designer/coder instead of the other way around where you have to adapt to wp, jml, and dp ! Editing meta tags is best done with template variables. You can find posts about that all over the forum place here.

Gentlebeings, please. Forums are for discussion and conversation. As long as nobody's being rude or unpleasant, everybody is entitled to express their opinions. It's not infrequent that somebody's expressed opinion or dissatisfaction with some feature or another led to changes and improvements. Tim, if you don't want to see some thread or another any more you can go to your profile and disable it. I've done that a time or two myself.
