Revo 2.2.4-pl Manager broken (JavaScript)

You shouldn't have to delete anything (although the setup directory should never be left in after installation). When you copy the installation files to the installation directory, it will overwrite them. It will not change your assets files.

They're saying to run setup again with a freshly unpacked 2.2.4-pl that is NOT unpacked on your machine and then uploaded via FTP. Upload a ziped 2.2.4 to the server, and unpack/extract it on the server itself (use your file manager, cPanel and the like). Then re-run setup.

Make sure you log out of your manager before you run setup.

Also, please disclose more information about your hosting environment. It could be significant.

Also I do not have the setup folder was just listing everything in the modx 2.2.4-pl.zip, was not really thinking.

I can not log out of the manager since the js is broken. Can I logout manually by deleting a key in the db?

Also I checked the ftp logs and no files failed to transfer so I don't think uploading the zip and extracting would be any better since nothing reported to fail however if you think it will help I will try it.

I have reverted everything to when it was work (2.1.3)
Gonna try another reinstall:
Empty Cache
Empty Session
Flush Session
Empty core/cache folder
Logout
Upload 2.2.4-pl.zip
Extract on server
Run Setup

Hopefully it works this time.

No good, still broekn.
Gonna try and upload the files via ftp and not extract them on the server. I think it may have delete folder & files that should not have been deleted (not sure, why...) [ed. note: FireDart last edited this post 14 years, 3 months ago.]

Try completely closing your browser, clearing the browser cache, and then go back to the manager login page. If you aren't logged in, it should show login screen.

I honestly don't know how to log out without the manger and I'm not sure if the above will assure logout or not, sorry. I searched a bit, but came up short.

Just because there's aren't any errors in the ftp log, doesn't mean a file didn't get corrupted. Do re-unpack the files through your server file manager and re-run setup. It won't hurt, and often helps.

I edited my previous post above with the results of a total revert then install, still no luck. However I did get these errors on install:

Try turning compress_js and compress_css off

In the site_settings table, set both to 0

Deleting all the files in the core/cache directory and clearing your browser cache and cookies should log you out (and could possibly solve your problem). The error messages you saw are normal for an upgrade install.


I would stronlgy advise you *not* to use FTP to transfer the files. MODX has zillions of files and it's quite common for one or more to be corrupted or missing in FTP transfers. Unzipping an archive on the server is way more reliable.

Hi All, the topic says it all.
My manager comes up all text. The links don't affect the page appearance, but the logout seems to work even though nothing changes visually. See the attached picture.

I'm on Apache, shared hosting, php5, advanced new install, Revo 2.2.4-pl with moved directories and subdomains. I have a successful traditional install on the same server, same Revo 2.2.4 that operates normally...

My manager seems to lack both CSS and JS operations, though all files listed in the source exist on the tree where designated. Cleared Cache multiple times, cleared browser stuff, repeatedly and frequently...

Did you confirm the config file has the correct paths, and that the config.core.php in each location points to the proper MODX_CORE_PATH? Also, you might want to explain in detail your "moved directories and subdomains" configuration...

Do to some recent events I have become very busy. I want to thank everyone with all your help.
