Discuss - The Upcoming Built-On Forum For MODx .. progress?

Well, i am still waiting for the project to succeed. However, when will it be expected and released?

It was said that Discuss would be released in late 2011. It is still in development behind closed and locked doors ^^

Looking forward to use it. Am using SMF and MODx atm without integration, this is very fruśtrating, because i want my SMF users to use the user system in MODx and comment on articles etc. This will be possible with Discuss as the forum software, since "Login" will be handling user profiles.

We do not at this time have the manpower to support a release of Discuss; so we are holding off the release until such a time where we can properly handle support and ensure the quality and security of the Extra. Thanks!

This is just sad, i am currently using MODx revo and SMF 2 for my website (without any integration), i do not want to begin building my own integration because i am still waiting for Discuss.

With Discuss, all my ideas and thoughts will become true. I have been waiting for almost one and a half year for this component.

Regarding the thing you said about quality and security of Discuss, why dont you guys release the "undone" component so that bugs will be solved faster and easier as the ones who uses it will discover them very fast and report them?

bowkilled, we are currently looking into improving Discuss to a stable solution and releasing it as soon as we can. Currently MODX Cloud is taking development precedence; after that we will have some hands on getting Discuss out in some form or another.

Yeah, good to hear that! Since I need forums on my sites I tried SMF+bridge, phpBB+bridge, but they did not work fine with CMS. Always there was some bug. And I'm tired to fix them, I'm not professional programmer, I'm designer)) and even bridge developers was not able to fix some of them. So I expect Discuss very much! =)

MODX Cloud is close to release..

splittingred, could you tell at least approximately how long it takes to release Discuss after that. I promise you that we will not consider this as an official forecast!)) Approximately - a year, two? Half a year? May be month or a couple?))

And one more question about Discuss. Will it have some converters from other boards?
