Okay, so i did actually do a force removal by checking the box when doing the uninstall & removal after following Bob's instructions, and i notice now that a) the problem is solved b) although Tinymce is still listed in package management, with the orange update button next to it, it isn't actually present in the modx manager, so each document in the editor can only display the html..

Is this normal for it to still be listed in package management even though it's no longer installed/ or at least isn't present following my force removal.

Also, Paul, your first response indicated that i shouldn't have updated tinymce, are package updates something i should avoid? And lastly, before i re-install tinymce, is this likely to happen again.. is there anything that may have caused this to happen..

It's almost always a good idea to update packages. Some of the more complex packages like TinyMCE and Articles can be pretty cranky about uninstalling, especially on Windows hosts. I've had to go into PhpMyAdmin and manually delete some of the leftover pieces. I'm pretty sure that the package authors will fix this eventually.

Once they are installed and everything is working correctly, it usually stays that way.

The listing in the grid might change if you delete all the files in the core/cache directory, clear your browser cache, and reload the page (or not).
