Why is Revoloution so slow?

I'm telling you guys, wait until the MODx wizards upgrade Revo to Ext 4. Request Batching is going to make a huge difference in the backend responsiveness.

^ IMHO, it's a core js update, it wont change much the way MODx will work.
Revolution's manager is slow a bit, and sometimes it's not responsive. On shared hosting (which about 3$/month), you can get your small company website set up and running smoothly without any severe problem. You might use batcher to work on multiple resources as well, while it'll be better than using resource tree.

I found Modx Revo to be running really slow as well, which lead me to this thread... after reading these posts I realised my version of MySQL was old. After updating MySQL the manager is very responsive and I am very happy... I take back all bad thoughts

Being on a shared hosting shouldn't be any trouble, but damn it's slow here.

Which browser are you guys using? I wouldn't use anything else but Chrome as its js handling is really quick...

i just checked with Chrome, when i click on a new resource, it needs 5-6 sec for being loaded completely. Firefox about 6-7 sec. I mean, what do i need to say to clients?

Evolution takes only 1 sec!!!

When i'm developing/building a website into Revolution it takes sooo much more time and frustration.

I really like Modx but guess I will stay with Evo as long as possible...

Something is definitely not kosher with your environment if the manager pages take that long after being minified and cached into your browser. Evolution taking a second to respond is also slow (perhaps you are on an overloaded shared environment). But the fact is, it is faster to develop a site in Revolution after becoming familiar with the manager UI for both, not because of rendering speed, but simply because of the more powerful interface and additional features.

That said, if you are stuck with older or minimal PHP hosting accounts, you may be better off running Evolution in those environments.

Still i don't beleive it untill I see it under my own eyes.
Howlong does it suppose to take to fully load a page in rev?
That caching and minifi are these (standard) settings of rev?
Is there a tune package or smt?

I would love to see some other environments where it's quick, and mostly mine.
(Evo < 1sec)

Looks to me rev isn't suitable for small websites and cheap hosting. I mean howcome a website with evo or rev on the same hostingserver can be so much different in loadtime?
