  personally i actually don't like the package manager.quite often it throws errors, installs are unfinished etc. and overall got the feeling it's something out of my control. installing plugins, snippets and modules never really bothered me tbh.

  This is a fascinating thread! It sounds like there are tons of ideas floating around, with major changes to how evo currently works...
  
  Stefanie and Susan, what will the upgrade path be from say evo 1.05. This is the first thing that came to mind when I read you were considering moving to jQuery (which is far preferable to me) and all new actions etc... I saw how people were excited by multi file / image style tv plugins. I would much rather see that type of functionality wrapped in as a custom TV type like what I did with Sortable sidebar. I personally am truly excited about a faster simpler manager experience, but have enjoyed how revo takes less clicks to accomplish tasks. I also like the ability to undo and the save in textareas.

  While you are on the sortable sidebar, is that also in reference to the LHS Manager Resource Tree? It would be AWESOME to sort resources directly in the LHS tree with simple drag and drop (kind of like how Doc Manager and Template TV sorting works). Some clients find going to Doc Manager a little tricky, and individually changing menu indexes time consuming.
  
  The ability for admin users to reset resource numbers would be nice (eg in the instance where lots of pages have been deleted)...
  
  I think the Revo manager login page looks really nice. A streamlined login page like microcipcip's mockup with the new MODx logo would be a nice touch.

  The manager is a modified version of MODX Carbon with some CSS from the awesome @dmi3yy theme.
