That error means there's an xtype: "something" somewhere, while "something" is not a registered xtype. xtype's are registered through Ext.reg('something',TheSomethingClass), which is typically at the bottom of the file.
The problem was the adding of the grid into the panel with its xtype:
{
xtype: 'doodles-grid-doodles'
,cls: 'main-wrapper'
,preventRender: true
}
before the grid was added.
This was fixed per

If you have no special CSS for your CMP you can comment this line.
Thanks Bruno, simple enough. Initially it looked like I was missing some CSS because my panel looked like it was missing some styles. But it seems my lexicon isn't working so no content is being loaded in.

Well, giving the tutorial one more try, it all works fine up until we try to display data in the grid. All I get is an empty grid, with the message "No data to display."
<sigh> Went through part II again, and it works. Must have been some stupid typo somewhere or something. Maybe that computer shop owner was right 20 years ago, and I should have stayed home knitting booties for my grandchildren.

The new internal helper processor classes are remarkable. They take the SQL right out of managing data in a CMP. I suppose there are limits, though, and really complex multi-joined queries would need to be custom-coded in the usual manner.
