I tried deleting the page with the call, then uninstalling, removing and re-downloading NewsPublisher and starting all over but all I get is that same error message...

Hmmm . . . are you previewing from the Manager? If not, you'd have to log in in the front end as a user with the required permissions.

I am doing that: logging in as a user from the front end. I tried deleting, uninstalling, removing and re-downloading NewsPublisher twice but the error message persists. I then tried removing all the Manager logs with no luck. I also tried using a different browser from the one I use for the Manager. I even dumped all the history, cache and cookies from Chrome but the error message persists...

What happens if you preview the NewsPublisher page from the Manager?

Check the policy used for the user's web Context Access ACL entry and make sure new_document is checked.

No go from the Manager either.

I do not have anything for the
user's web Context Access ACL entry and make sure new_document is checked.
I am not sure what all that is? The weird thing is I did have this working initially?

I have Users, a Role, a Group and a Private Pages system working. The user login works fine. The private pages will appear once the user logs in. The NewsPublisher resource is one of these private pages.

Try this: add the admin Super User to the group with access to the Private Pages with a role of admin Super User. Then try previewing the NP page from the Manager while logged in as admin.Super User.

Possibly it was working before you put the NP page in the Private Pages group?

If I uncheck the Private Pages box on the NewsPublisher page the system works.

I tried your suggestion with adding a Super User to the groups I setup but it will no take take the Super User password. There is a login page in the navigation. Once a user logs in with his User Group ID and password then the NewsPublisher link will appear in the navigation. But clicking that link only brings the error message. The other private page I have set up will display just fine though, so there must be something missing with the NewsPublisher page?

I find the Revo security and user system mind bogglingly convoluted...

With the Role I have set up with my User Group: do I need to add an Access Policy for NewsPublisher somehow?

My NewsPublisher snippet call is totally basic. Do I need to add some parameter to connect with my user Group? Right now all I see is the check box for Private Pages which is the Resource Group I have created...

Looking at the Role I see fields for Name, Description, and Authority. The Authority setting is 800. Does this need to be changed?

OK, it's definitely a permissions issue, but let me ask:

First, are the Private Pages under the 'web' context in the tree (if not, what context)?

                    Second,

Go to Security -> Access Controls (User Groups tab)
Right-click on the user group for the front-end users
                    Select Update User Group
Click on the Context Access tab

List the context, the minimum role, and the policy for each entry you see there.

OK Bob, I think we are on to something...

The Private pages are under the 'web' context.

Following your security path I have this under Context Access:

                      Context: web
                      Minimum Role: roleName - 800
                      Access Policy: Load Only

I guess one or several of these need to be changed? I might have to create a new Resource Group though as I do not want the Users to be able to edit the other private pages, just the posts via NewsPublisher...
