    Yes, remove the @ character at the beginning of that line and run the code again. I'll bet an error is generated in the MODX log (or possibly on screen).

        I have another problem right now. Have tried migrating this site to a testing environment. There are a few problems:
        1) manger can not clear the cache consistently - sometimes the window remains open, but sometimes it is successful. This is an old problem and not 2.2. related.
        2) manager can not flush sessions: flush_sess_err ... Same as above
        3) having cleared the cache manually (otherwise you get Could not find action file at: controllers/default/welcome.php as in documentation), now I get another message: Could not find action file at: controllers/default/index.php. There is no tree on the left but tabs (Resources, Elements, Files) is there. Have re-checked core/config/config.inc.php. Any ideas about this?
        4) after this I re-ran the setup. In install log there is exactly the same stuff as in my first post, note that js settings are now off.

          Hmm, not exactly what I was expecting. A couple of questions...

          1. Are you running PHP as an Apache module or via CGI?

          2. Do you have any "php_value include_path" directives in an .htaccess or is it set in an Apache conf file? This would override the php.ini include_path per account but would also prevent you from changing it with the set_include_path function.

            gro00__, this thread is specifically focused on the minify issues. Your additional issues do not sound related and might be better explored in a separate thread.

              PHP is running as a module, I have run it as a CGI on this site before with no issues ~ though not after the 2.2.0 update. Also there is nothing in the .htaccess other than the stock modx stuff.
              the include paths are in the /etc/php.ini file and have not been modified.

              So, I have 4 sites that have been updated from 2.1.x to 2.2.0 all were doing exactly the same thing in the manager [till I edited the minify files] I was surprised that I hadn't heard more people having this issue [since I managed to replicated it 4 times!!] ~ perhaps it has something to do with these being upgrades & not fresh installs. or more likely platform dependent? [CentOS, PHP 5.2.5, Plesk 9.something o a MediaTemple DV]

              Gimme 20 minutes and I'll test a clean install on another domain.

              -sean

              Hmm lots of the same issues on a clean install.

                It seems that modx is not able to set the include path ...

                [Sat Jan 14 14:54:44 2012] [error] [client 70.50.112.42] PHP Fatal error:  require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required 'Minify.php' (include_path='.:') in /var/www/vhosts/onetofortyeight.com/httpdocs/manager/min/index.php on line 79, referer: http://onetofortyeight.com/manager/index.php?a=66

                Although if I setup a test in another file in the site root I am able to set the include path using the code from the minify index file... ??

                $min_libPath = dirname(__FILE__) . '/lib';

                // setup include path
                set_include_path($min_libPath . PATH_SEPARATOR . get_include_path());
                set_time_limit(0);

                echo get_include_path();

                //require 'Minify.php';

                That will output a modified include path whereas the minify index will not [as per the error log entry]

                Kinda stumped on this one... any thoughts?

                  I had the same problem of "empty screen without explorer" with fresh installation on XAMPP Lite v 1.7.3 (Apache 2.2.14, PHP 5.3.1).
                  Disabling compress_js in core/cache/system_settings/config.cache.php solved issue.

                  Actually before I found your advice, I had traced (not fixed) the problem, when paths to JS files in f parameter for min/index.php where complete (like "/manager/assets/..."), while Minify tried to substitute directory aliases to them (replacing "assets" with full path for example) making completely wrong $path and empty $realpath as result. I haven't had a chance to look back into this issue - though I did notice that the minify stuff appears to be a Google project, I may poke around there to see what I can find, compare with what modx has done.

                    Though I am 100% convinced that this has something to do with my MediaTemple environment.

                      No, it's not only MediaTemple environment. Its still even on local WAMP server on Win7, actually very annoying issue, could have been using Revo much longer for now, but this bug. If more people are installing and seeing empty managers - no way to go for Modx.. Needs fast fix.

                      Happens on fresh 2.2 pl2 install, even with cleaned cache, compress_js set to 0 in db and in file.
