    Hi All,

I've installed the Gallery Plugin following the instructions at: http://modx.com/extras/package/gallery

But when I click on the Components menu and Gallery it just reloads the page and doesn't offer me any button or interface to create a new gallery. Attached is the result.

What is wrong?! On a test site using the Gallery Plugin that I had on my server a while ago there was no issue with the Gallery Plugin, which make this extra frustrating!

Do I have to install any other packages to get the Gallery Plugin working?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    David

Try flushing permissions (Security > Flush Permissions)

Empty cache (Site > Clear Cache)

See if that helps, if not, webprosmo wrote a nice tut a while back for Gallery:

        Thanks for the suggestion upiorz,

Flushing the permissions and emptying the cache hasn't helped. Still the same blank page, even after removing the package and reinstalling it.

I looked over the tutorial but it is concerned with implementing an instance of the Gallery. I can't even make a gallery at the moment!

Could there be anything to do with the host that could cause this?

I have other packages working: wayfinder, getresourcefield, if. And previously successfully installed the Gallery package on another project on another host.

I have installed the gallery on a test site on another server and it works fine.

I have compared the settings in the system > system settings and they are identical.

In the error logs there are a lot of errors on the one that doesn't work. The most recent one from re-installing the gallery is:
          [2011-11-21 08:44:45] (ERROR @ /connectors/workspace/packages.php) Error caching action map mgr/actions

And before that from a previous attempt to install, remove, re-install I have lots of errors like this:
          [2011-11-18 15:10:31] (ERROR @ /connectors/workspace/packages.php) Could not open file for reading: gallery-1.4.0-rc1.transport.zip?revolution_version=Revolution-2.1.3-pl

And a couple instances of this:
          [2011-11-18 16:00:56] (ERROR @ /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/si/ap/ar/siapartnership.com/public_html/core/model/phpthumb/phpthumb.functions.php : 474) PHP warning: shell_exec() [<a href='function.shell-exec'>function.shell-exec</a>]: Unable to execute 'which convert 2>&1'

Any ideas on what is wrong? Or how to fix it?

OK saw this previous post { https://forums.modx.com/thread/50598/solved-blank-page-in-backend-after-installing-gallery } which seems to be exactly the same problem I have.

I followed the steps by changing permissions to '755' of the "assets/components/gallery" and "core/components/gallery" folders and files (previously '764') but that made no difference, as did copying the folders over from an existing working gallery on another site.

here is the error that comes up in the console:
            GET http://siapartnership.com/assets/components/gallery/js/mgr/gallery.js?v=213pl 403 (Forbidden)
            GET http://siapartnership.com/assets/components/gallery/css/mgr.css 403 (Forbidden)
            GET http://siapartnership.com/assets/components/gallery/js/mgr/widgets/album/album.tree.js?v=213pl 403 (Forbidden)
            GET http://siapartnership.com/assets/components/gallery/js/mgr/widgets/home.panel.js?v=213pl 403 (Forbidden)
            GET http://siapartnership.com/assets/components/gallery/js/mgr/sections/home.js?v=213pl 403 (Forbidden)
/manager/?a=74:26Uncaught ReferenceError: GAL is not defined

And attached is a screengrab of the error and blank screen.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with this one!

OK I have redone the permissions (for about the fifth time) and it is now working. Phew!

Now I just need to get the nivoGallery working...
