    Jquery is a complete robust and very light lib.
    I hope modx gonna make its way with jquery after 1.0 because, i can’t imagine the combined power of modx backend with jquery and Jack Slocum’s ext library.
    http://ajaxian.com/archives/ext-10-for-jquery-appoaches

    IMHO, i really don’t like prototype because prototype is not a complete lib.
    <!-- Start QuickEdit headers -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="manager/media/script/scriptaculous/prototype.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/modules/quick_edit/javascript/Cookie.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/modules/quick_edit/javascript/Drag.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/modules/quick_edit/javascript/moo.fx.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/modules/quick_edit/javascript/QuickEdit.js"></script>
    <!-- End QuickEdit headers -->

    Instead of above with jquery that can be handled with 2 lines on js integration.

    Just a suggestion...
    BTW, modx rocks kiss

      Do a search on this and you will see discussion on this. MODx has decided to go with MooTools, which better aligns with its philosophy.

        i did.
        i don’t know french, and the other topic was not explanatory.
        And i’ve told about the combination, not just the jquery itself, those 2 topics are old since ext was a subject.

          Maybe change the subject then tongue

          And I bite my tongue about my first comment about using the "search" as it didn’t readily provide the thread I had in mind.

          Check this out though:

            thanks so much jesster, btw. i didn’t know mootools implementation was made recently, i have switched over modx from drupal at about 1 week ago.I was using drupal for a long time in my projects.
            MODx really impressed about its flexibility and i think i’m gonna use it my future projects.I have a really swift development phase with MODx.
            But i’m using jquery smiley and i will never ever gonna change my framework.
            It will be good if it was selectable on preinstallation but i know it’s difficult to do too.
            Thanks so much for information

              Mootools is only "forced" in the back end manager. It’s also used in AjaxSearch. I’d love to see ports of any front end component using Mootools to jQuery. Those are my favorite two JS libraries, but we selected Mootools because it scales better than jQuery, and just fits philosophically better with MODx. Light, extendable, etc. smiley

                I’ve noticed that in the backend but quickedit makes $ funtions collision.
                I’ve replaced jquery’s $ function with jq() but i know this is not a smart approach only saves the day. (and lots of <script src="">)
                i wanna port quickedit to use jquery but this won’t be a smart approach again because i know that new modx releases gonna give me some headaches about that.
                any advices appreciated.

                PS: sorry for my english

                  QuickEdit is completely ported to Mootools now and has other cleanups as well. You might wish to start from that point with the 0.9.6 RC1 build.

                    I was wondering if you could expand on that statement? I don’t quite understand what you mean, considering that jQuery is only 19kb, and includes a powerful plugin architecture (with over 150 plugins) - both of which completely meet the philosophy of your project. http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins

                    We have a new download manager in the works, so once that’s up and running, I’m sure that’ll help to make jQuery even more easily customizable. But I’m not sure if that’s what you were referring to, or not.

                    Any feedback would be appreciated!

                      imho, taconite for jq, pquery vs. are the closest decisions which fits with MODx philosophy.
                      And in the backend slocum’s ext makes the MODx far better and lighter than all of others.
