The Book (finally)

@moondawg69 we are shipping the books now. You should have it very soon.

@David Walker: We will be putting the book on the main page of the site and around various sections of the site now that we are shipping it.

Any news about the e-book version? It would we so cool to have it on my iPad! The paper version is so heavy - I think I have got some more muscles in my arms from reading in bed at evening...

Do we have an estimated shipping time to Australia for the book? (I'm still waiting for my order to arrive.)

From Amazon - $59 with free shipping in the US; shipping to Israel $10.98

However, Amazon doesn't do PayPal.

Then these guys are selling it for a lot more... http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/0983619409/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1327210849&sr=1-1&condition=used [ed. note: sottwell last edited this post 14 years, 9 months ago.]

I don't know what the shipping time is, but I know it took a long time to get to people in Europe.

I recently had to wait quite a long time to get a package from London via Royal Mail.

PLEASE, PLEASE specify the version of MODX you are using . . . PLEASE!
MODx info for everyone: http://bobsguides.com/MODx.html

We have shifted completely to Amazon for sales and distribution of single copies of the book. They have been shipping relatively quickly and have had better results than our own distribution channel. Europe and Australia have been slower than they should have been and we haven't determined the issue especially since the books in those regions were supposed to be shipping from the UK and Australia respectively.

Hi Jay,

Any news on the ebook? Do you know if it will be available for kindle? Or will it be pdf only?

Cheers,

Adam

This included actually resizing the book dimensions to make it fit into USPS Priority Envelopes and reduce page count to cut the weight.

The book is still 3.314lbs (over 1.5 inches thick) and is 772 pages. [..]

Anyone that buys MODX: The Official Guide will receive a huge discount on the electronic edition (not pdf but .mobi or epub) The electronic edition will also be available as a standalone. In the future we'll also look at retail but it's likely the price would have to climb in order to offset the cost share with the retailers.

On the electronic edition, Michael "piker" Hickey is working on the formatting and we'll announce details and formats soon.

Any news about the e-book?
Will it be a full and updated version?
Do you have an estimated release date?

Thanks!

PS: I think it's an understatement to say that a lot of people seems to be eagerly waiting for it!!
