What is the URL?

Can anyone tell me what the url would be for Venues - Cambridge? I thought it would be /venues/cambridge but that doesnt seem to work?

Thanks

The url to that is:
www.domain.com/index.php?id=9
-- domain.com exists
www.yourdomain.com/etc of course

But that is an absolute link, and there is probably a better (relative) way of linking to that page. When changing domain (or from test environment to live envir.), or subdomain, you must change all of those "hard links".

Who knows the relative link method? Is it something with <link> tag?

BB2

use [~123~] for internal linking where 123 is your document id, as per above screenshot it will be [~9~].

Now modx generated its url as per your configuration settings, if you have "Alias paths" set to "ON" then it will likely output similar to site.com/lvl1/lvl2. If "Alias Path" is set to "OFF", it will output site.com/document-alias.html OR site.com/index.php?id=xyz.

Check out the wiki to read more about Friendly URL configuration.

hope this helps.

thx!

That is my settings. Are they correct?

Yup, these are right.

<a href="[~9~]">Cambridge</a> - That link is coming out as (venues/index.php?q=cambridge.html) and going to the modX holding page

Please help me!

Also (http://www.limousinecuisine.com/index.php?id=9) that link works
(http://www.limousinecuisine.com/cambridge) that link doesnt work

Soooo confused!

Thanks guys

That is my settings. Are they correct?

I have for:
"suffix friendly URLs" : .html
"allow duplicate aliases" on NO. because that comment line says with me (in dutch) that this cannot be used in combination with Frieldly urls. So that’s why I put NO here

And in my templates I use the internal links as you do:

My browser then shows http://www.mydomain.com/sitemap.html where the word sitemap comes from the alias in my document 59

WIKI documentation here:

Hope this helps

These settings should be correct now? This is the page it generates http://www.limousinecuisine.com/venues/cambridge.html

Its as if its not linking to the correct stylesheet because the content is appearing. The text is appearing. Im going to kill myself soon :-( lol

Thanks for your help!
